Whether you’re fascinated by local history, ghost stories, paranormal investigation, or just enjoy meeting fellow curious minds, we’d love for you to stop by and say hello.

LIBCON is celebrating over 250 years of heroes this year, with activities for all ages throughout the library. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support one of Virginia’s libraries while enjoying a fun day with fellow fans of history, comics, pop culture, and imagination.

If you’re in the Gloucester area, or looking for a great excuse for a Saturday road trip, we’d love to meet you!

The library sits just steps away from Gloucester’s historic Colonial Courthouse Circle – one of Virginia’s best-preserved colonial courthouse greens. The district is home to the 1766 courthouse, historic jail, debtors prison, clerk’s office, Botetourt Building, and other remarkable buildings that have witnessed more than 250 years of Virginia history. It’s the kind of place where history lovers can easily lose an afternoon exploring.

There are also several locally owned shops, hands-down delicious restaurants, and the Gloucester Museum of History nearby, making it a perfect day trip for anyone who enjoys history, small-town charm, and discovering places they may never have visited before.
