During the Civil War\, both Union and Confederate troops utilized the Tavern.\n \nWith so much history packed into this building\, has every guest that checked into Hanover Tavern truly checked out? Join your hosts\, Spirit Guides Paranormal and Transcend Paranormal as we rally once more to raise funds for the continued renovation of the historic Fleetwood Church in Brandy Station\, Virginia!\nWe can’t tell you how excited we are to be able to do this again\, and we want you to join us!\n \nEstablished in 1880\, the Fleetwood Church is a hauntingly beautiful building that stands upon historic grounds; one of the history’s greatest cavalry engagements took place just paces away. Less than 20 years earlier\, on June 9\, 1863\, these grounds saw over 20\,000 troops – including 17\,000 cavalry – engaged in battle. It was this battle that ended the Confederate cavalry’s dominance in the East\, and established the Federal cavalry as a strong and confident force. Another 20+ battles and skirmishes occurred right in this general area\, making it the most fought over area in American history.\n \nWith over 1\,400 casualties and losses on these grounds\, has every soldier truly gone home? Some beg to differ – most notably the numerous paranormal teams who have investigated the Fleetwood Church. Could this activity stem from the fact that the Union army had to move on\, leaving the dead to be poorly buried – or worse\, not at all? Reportedly\, five months after the battle\, the Union returned to the land to find no bodies – only gnawed on bones scattered all throughout the battlefield and surrounding areas.\n\nFleetwood Church is now privately owned and maintained by Steve Pollett & Historic Fleetwood Church\, LLC. The event will be open to the public at 10:00am.\n-Vendors must supply their own tables\, chairs\, and canopies. In the case of inclement weather there is no cover provided for outdoor vendors. Event will be held rain or shine.\n-Vendors may have 2 additional people at their vendor table at no additional charge. Paranormal teams may have up to 5 people. Other purchases may be necessary (i.e. the investigation).\n-Vendors must remain for the entire duration of the day for each day. You may not pack up early unless you have an emergency. If you do you will not be allowed back to future events.\n-Vendors are asked to donate an item or service for the raffles. There will be a raffle on Saturday and another raffle on Sunday. Event representatives will choose which day your item will be raffled off. Items are to be donated by 9:30am Saturday so that they may be displayed for raffle ticket sales.\n-Vendors accept all risks and liabilities to their property and person for the entire duration of the event. Jennifer Kennedy\, the Gateway to the Shenandoah Visitor Center and Museum\, and the Town of Strasburg\, their agents\, representatives\, and employees are not responsible for lost\, stolen\, damaged property\, or injuries. This area was witness to multiple clashes between Native Americans and the settlers from the Old World. During the War Between the States northern forces shelled Radford – then a small place called Central Depot from the ridge that overlooks the river which St Albans would be built on. After the brutal war St Albans Boys School was founded in 1892. In the early 1900’s St Albans became a treatment center for those suffering from mental issues. The existing Tavern was built in stages and includes more than 12\,000 square feet on three floors. The earliest surviving portion of this building dates back to 1791\, with additions in the 1820’s\, 1830’s and the 1990’s.\nSuch historical figures as George Washington\, Lord Cornwallis\, Marquis de Lafayette\, Patrick Henry\, P.T. Barnum\, and even Edgar Allen Poe graced the halls of Hanover Tavern. During the Civil War\, both Union and Confederate troops utilized the Tavern.\n \nWith so much history packed into this building\, has every guest that checked into Hanover Tavern truly checked out?
